A single subject watercolour portrait, hand painted and completely bespoke. Send me your favourite photograph and have it transformed into a beautiful, completely individual piece of art. I keep you informed every step of the way and will always send the sketch first to make sure you’re happy before I begin painting. You can tweak it as much as you like before I begin as I want to make sure you’re happy.
Composed with Winsor Newton watercolours and finished with Faber Castell pencils as I prefer the look that pencils give rather than using pen.
I am happy to work from nearly any photograph and can also merge multiple photographs to create your perfect custom watercolour portrait.

I use Arches Aquarelle paper, crafted in France. Personally I like to use Cold Pressed, 300gsm which is a thick paper with a lovely texture that absorbs paint well.

More information
I use Arches Aquarelle Paper, cold pressed, 300gsm. Arches is a premium watercolour paper that continues to be made using traditional techniques and is committed to sustainability. Made from 100% cotton. All illustrations are painted with Winsor Newton watercolours.
You will receive the painting unframed, packed in biodegradable materials. I use Ecocraft to ensure that there is no plastic in any packaging I purchase.
My standard sizes are 10 x 7 inches and 10 x 14 inches, but I can cut paper to any required size up to A3.
I will send you a photograph of the initial sketch before I begin to paint. At this point you can request changes. I will then finish the painting and send you a final photograph to make sure you’re happy before sending you the artwork.
Wait times for all orders is up to 8 weeks.
Original or a print?
A painting is the original piece created by the artist. A print is a copy, made to a very high quality and often with a limited run.
When ordering a custom portrait from me, or when I attend an event as a live artist, you will receive the original artwork. This means that your piece is completely unique.
I’m happy to have prints created from your original for you to keep or to give as gifts. Please let me know if you’d like them added to your order. These can be any size up to A3 and will be printed locally.
